BLUE Indexing was launched in 2018 by Morgan Genevieve Blue, Ph.D. I live in Indianapolis, Indiana, and offer indexing, proofreading, copyediting, and developmental editing services.
I specialize in alphabetical back-of-the-book indexes for academic texts in the humanities, with clients working primarily in the fields of media studies, gender studies, childhood studies, and cultural studies.
My work includes building indexes for Ricanness: Enduring Time in Anticolonial Performance (NYU 2019), How to Play Video Games (NYU 2019), Anti-Fandom: Dislike and Hate in the Digital Age (NYU 2019), Mediated Girlhoods, Vol. 1 (Peter Lang 2011), The Gender and Media Reader (Routledge 2011), Girlhood on Disney Channel (Routledge 2017), and Mediated Girlhoods, Vol. 2 (Peter Lang 2018). In addition, I have provided copyediting for the following essay collections: The Craft of Criticism: Critical Media Studies in Practice (Routledge 2018), Mediated Girlhoods, Vol. 2, and Mediated Girlhoods, Vol. 1. I have also helped academic authors improve their manuscripts and book proposals through developmental editing. These experiences, along with my recent training from the American Society for Indexing, have given me the tools to accurately and comprehensively locate, expand upon, and cross-reference the terms readers will find most useful.
I earned my Ph.D. in media studies and a graduate portfolio in women’s and gender studies at The University of Texas at Austin. I am the author of Girlhood on Disney Channel: Branding, Celebrity, and Femininity and co-editor of Mediated Girlhoods: New Explorations of Girls’ Media Culture, Vol.2. My research has been published in Feminist Media Studies, Film, Fashion & Consumption, Red Feather Journal, Journal of Children and Media, and Voicing Girlhood in Popular Music.
